Rabbits & Guinea Pigs
Rabbits and Guinea Pigs need to have ad lib (24/7) access to hay and fresh water.
The Hay Cubes allow your Rabbits and Guinea Pigs to chew for majority of the day, allowing them to wear their teeth down. This promotes healthy teeth and gums, which is very important for these little animals.
The fibre is needed to keep their gut healthy too – Rabbit’s especially can become very sick if they are not provided with enough fibre or their gut health is compromised.
Rabbits and Guinea Pigs however are very sensitive to certain mineral levels in their feed, such as Calcium. Calcium and your pets is a little bit of a balancing act – too little calcium can lead to dental disease however too much can cause or exacerbate urinary problems (such as bladder stones).
Calcium requirements for Rabbits are around 200mg/ 1kg of body weight (so around 400mg for the average 2kg Rabbit).
On average a Pasture Hay Cube weighs 32g – this can vary slightly. Our Hay Cubes have been tested and the average hay cube contains about 132mg Calcium (on a % of DM).
Our Hay Cubes are currently available in 20kg bags – as a combination of Clover, Rye & Oaten Hay.

Young Rabbits can be fed our Lucerne cubes – Lucerne/ Lucerne & Oaten/ Lucerne & Teff/ Lucerne, Rye & Clover.
Lucerne is ideal for young rabbits (kittens) as it provides them with necessary calories needed for growth.
Older Rabbits (> 1 year) are not recommended Lucerne due to the high protein & calcium content.
